Elimination by Master Aro's Orders

It did not take Heidi, Demetri, Chelsea, and Afton long to get to Africa. However, the four had to wait until nightfall before the began their quest. The skin would pose a problem under the searing heat of the sun, plus their dark hoods would also make them stand out much more. And standing out was the last thing the Volturi wanted to do.

"West," Demetri spoke with his rich, Greek accent that had not disappeared after the centuries he had lived.

The other guards reacted immediately, changing their direction towards Demetri's command. It would appear he had locked on to the Coven, which was to be expected. Demetri had never failed when it came to his gift.

The four guards strode side by side as the reach the cavern of the open land. It was the perfect spot for a Coven to hide. The rocks would provide shade and places to hide as well as no human would be able to venture down easily.

"Ready?" Heidi's soft, husky voice spoke as she strode forward, not waiting for an answer and dropped over the side of the cliff. The others following quickly after.

Chelsea stood by Afton and Heidi was on the other side of her. They looked down the cliff and Chelsea nodded at Heidi's words before following closely after.

She looked ahead and saw the darkness amongst the caves but, thanks to their vampire vision, they could see every outline of every rock that adorned the entrance to the coven. Chelsea smelled blood around her and the Volturi guard stood still, listening.

A smile crept onto Chelsea's face when she heard the frantic movement of feet and a faint whisper in a language that Chelsea did not understand but she picked up the name clearly, "Volturi."

Chelsea and Heidi stepped forward, almost in unison, and Chelsea spoke, "Step forth."

They waited for the pathetic coven to come and receive their punishment and if they did not, the Volturi would retrieve them.

The moments ticked by before two vampires, dressed in rags and as filthy as the stones they lived in, crawled from the entrance. The two shook uncontrollably, making it clear that they had a healthy respect for the Volturi on their doorstep and that they would except their fate.

"We're waiting," Heidi's voice cut the silence. The Volturi were not fools, they knew there were more than two members of this Coven.

However, a short time passed before it became apparent to the four Volturi members that the other Coven member would not be as willing as their two brother-en.

"Very well," Demetri spoke, waltzing forward, grabbing the two standing at the entrance and tossing one to Afton. "We will make this quick since you were the smart ones of your Coven."

With a snap of two wrists, the African vampires' heads were torn from their body and sent into the turf below. They would set them ablaze when they had finished with the others.

"Fee-fi-fo-fum, you better be prepared for what will come," Heidi chuckled as she walked into the overhanging cliff from which they were hiding.

Chelsea watched Afton and Demetri destroy the two vampires. While they dropped the bodies together, Heidi and Chelsea strode forward into the cliff.

Demetri and Afton were by their sides in an instant and Demetri said in a low voice, "Straight and to the right."

The Volturi followed Demetri's directions before they came across four other vampires standing together with a bold look on their faces. How sweet, trying to defend themselves. Well, that has to be finished. Chelsea dug into the first vampire and found the ties that bound him to the others. She sawed that away and immediately the vampire stepped away from the group and looked back and forth between the Volturi and his old coven.

A female vampire hissed at him, "Avoi, what do you think you're doing? Get back here."

A male, "Stick to the plan."

Chelsea found the ties of the female and snapped them all so that she followed the first vampire. All that was left in the formation were two more males.

Heidi stepped forward and called to the remaining two, "Surrender. It will be much easier if you accept your fate."

Heidi watched as Chelsea severed their bonds, one by one. It was always interesting to see the other female guard's gift. Sometimes severing the bond would result in pain and other times confusion, this time it was of the latter. Pity.

Suddenly one of the vampire males lunged forward towards Heidi. However, Demetri was prepared for this and stepped forward, pushing the vampire's head against the wall.

"You dare to attack the Volturi?" Demetri's low voice growled out of his throat, with a flick of his wrist, the top of the vampire's head was crushed in and soon, his limbs followed.

While Demetri dealt with the foolish male, Afton had already taken out a female and a male. Their limbs torn from their bodies in a high-pitched squeal and the sound of boulders striking echoed through the cavern.

Chelsea chose to deal with the last female, making quick work of her, already tired of the mission.

Despite the fact that the Volturi were fond of elimination missions, they tended to grow repetitive since foolish vampires chose to fight back even though they did not have the skill to. Should they prove to be an excellent fight, the Volturi might have actually enjoyed themselves.

Heidi watched as Demetri finished with the male, smiling at her mate before turning back to the others, "Burn the bodies and we shall return."

Chelsea finished the last female by twisting her head until it came off after the second twist. She threw the body into the pile and vamped back beside Heidi, watching Afton carefully. Once he was finished handling his share, he and Demetri started to light the pile of corpses on fire.

With a flick of her wrist, the hood of her cloak covered her face once again. She watched with an expressionless face, the flames lick up the dead.

Once the last was destroyed permanently, Afton and Demetri returned to their sides and the four guards turned on their heels and fled the scene of the fight. Heading back to report to Aro.

The mission was a success for they had destroyed the coven completely, just as Master Aro had ordered and they had done it without the help of two of the greater powers -- Jane and Alec. Master Aro should be pleased about how everything went.

Her mouth twitched at the corners into almost a smile and she glanced at Heidi who nodded at her. Chelsea wondered if they were thinking the same thing.
